European Fortress Day

"In order to present Europe’s forts and fortifications to a larger European public, international partners are forming a new Europe-wide event : ‘European Fortress Day’. EFFORTS, the European Federation of Fortified Sites and defence lines, together with the Dutch foundation Stichting Liniebreed Ondernemen will create, together with dozens of fortress and fortification sites, this new event and the edition of European Fortress Day in September 2018." Theme month “Adaptive re-use of industrial buildings”

On the occasion of the EYCH 2018, E-FAITH (European Federation of Associations of Industrial and Technical Heritage) is organising theme months to raise awareness for industrial heritage. Objectives of the October theme: Promote and present good practices of giving a new life to old industrial buildings - respecting their heritage and image. In January 2019, E-FAITH will organise a concluding conference on "Industrialisation, science and technology. Key to European Integration" (see here for more information).
