Consulted by the European Commission and the European Council, the European Historic Houses Association is an umbrella organisation gathering 22 national associations of historic houses and 1 observer country. The principal objective is to adopt, at the European level, favourable measures for the conservation of cultural heritage and of historic houses in the areas of inheritance tax, Low VAT rate, and the illicit trafficking of cultural goods, among others.
