EUROCITIES represents the interests of its members and engages in dialogue with the European institutions across a wide range of policy areas affecting cities. Through a wide range of Forums, Working Groups, projects and events, EUROCITIES provides a platform for promoting the urban agenda in European policy-making and for sharing knowledge and exchanging on innovative solutions among its member cities. EUROCITIES works across a wide range of urban policy areas: these include culture, climate change, energy and environment, mobility, social affairs, economic development, cohesion policy and the knowledge society.
EUROCITIES manages Culture for Cities and Regions, a pilot project funded by the European Commission, in partnership with KEA European Affairs. It examines existing practices of culture as a key element in local and regional development strategies through the exchange and transfer of knowledge through case studies, study visits and coaching activities
